During 2007, the Inn at Broad operated two units
of transitional supportive housing within the Broad Street United Methodist
Church at 501 E. Broad St. For 2007, the housing component included 2
three-bedroom apartments with all utilities paid without rent to families
headed by single women. The facility also includes a housing unit for
supportive staff of the INN at Broad. The supportive component for 2007
involved case management, a mentor/companion team of allies, and a community
coach for each family while they achieved non-housing goals such as
education, work, self-development, etc. This was the beneficial human welfare
services provided during 2007. In addition, the transitional component
included goal-oriented, but self-directed motivation to secure the next
housing objective within twenty-four months.
