Donor Names Privacy Policy

Community Shares of Mid Ohio provides donors the opportunity to indicate on the pledge form that they prefer to remain anonymous. If the donor chooses to remain anonymous, their name and other identifying information will not be released to the member charity that they designated their donation to.

If the donor does not choose to remain anonymous, Community Shares will release the donor information to the member charity.

The release of donor names from workplace fundraising campaigns to member charities is for thank you and informational purposes only. Workplace campaign donors are not to be re-solicited for contributions outside of the campaigns unless they were already a donor of the member charity prior to becoming a workplace campaign donor.

Donor names are only for the agency to which the gift was pledged and shall never be used by other Community Shares organizations.

Members of Community Shares will respect the privacy of donors and safeguard the confidentiality of information that a donor reasonably would expect to be private.

Community Shares and members will not sell, rent, or exchange any donor lists.

Community Shares and its members will honor requests by a donor to curtail repeated communications from in-house lists.

Any communications should be respectful of the needs and interests of the donor or potential donor.
